As the opening of Hendrick Automotive Group’s BMW of McKinney nears, excitement abounds as finishing touches are being applied to the building. With turf and tree installation now complete and parking lot striping underway, the exterior hardscape and landscape is all but finished and ready for final inspections. Interior drywall and painting finishes are near completion with minor touch up underway in all areas. Ceiling tile installation is complete with only the service drive gypsum “cloud ceiling” and metal panel ceiling systems remaining. Millwork and furniture installation is complete as well with exception of the final seating and loose furniture remaining while we await issuance of a stocking permit. Lift installation in the service department is in the final stages with all air and lubrication systems already in place and technician toolboxes awaiting placement. Additionally, parts department shelving is well underway as is the tire carousel for bulk tire storage.

General Manager John Secondo, Executive Management, and HR have assembled a “World Class” team with several of the managers relocating from other Hendrick stores to assist in running the latest addition to the Hendrick Automotive Group portfolio.

Construction on the new BMW of McKinney, located in McKinney, Texas continues into the New Year. The new two-story 70,638 square foot facility resides on approximately 14.5 acres and encompasses sales, service, and parts, along with customer amenity areas and offices as well as a remote car wash and dumpster/storage facility. Scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2024, the BMW facility joins Hendrick Honda Cars of McKinney as two Hendrick premier dealerships located just thirty-two miles north of the Dallas metroplex area. Recently appointed General Manager Johnny Secondo is well underway building the future BMW of McKinney team.

As construction on the facility continues, visitors will notice a momentous change in recent weeks. Masonry wall construction is nearly complete as the front of the facility block work has topped out and the rear wall of the service portion of the building is all that remains for masonry construction to be completed. In conjunction with the masonry work, steel erection is well underway with primary focus on the showroom and sales portion of the facility, followed closely behind by the service and parts sections. With recent cold temperatures and inclement weather, progress has slowed slightly, however, the general contractor and their subs have proceeded rapidly as the weather has allowed.

Major upcoming milestones include decking and roofing on the showroom portion of the facility with the parts and service centers to follow. Upon completion of the decking, interior wall framing layout and construction will take place, along with installation of the curtain wall glass system. All trades are working diligently to dry the building in so that interior rough-in work and finish work can commence. Regarding overall site work, all utilities have been installed as well as all site paving; the site work that remains involves the landscaping, irrigation, and site fencing work.
